Winter School Description

Our initiative to organize the winter school series is aimed at enhancing the national and international visibility of the science of molecular materials.

This year winter school on “Molecular Materials and Functions” is scheduled to take place from December 4th– 8th, 2024, at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).

Our previous winter school, held during December 11-15, 2023- (https://molmatter.org/coe-winter-school-2023), featured esteemed speakers such as Prof. Horst Hahn, Prof. Hannu Hakkinen, Prof. Francesco Stellaci, Prof. Tatsuya Tsukuda, Prof. Nonappa, and Prof. Tomas Base, alongside several Indian experts such as Prof. T. Pradeep, Prof. D. K. Chand, Prof. Sukhendu Mandal, Prof. Rajnish Kumar and a few more. See the glimpses of the event here.

Following the success of the previous winter schools on Molecular Materials and Functions (WS-MMF-2023), we are sure that this year’s event (WS-MMF-2024) will continue to serve and fulfil the participants’ enthusiasm.

Welcome to the WS-MMF-2024! We are thrilled to invite you to attend our upcoming 2nd Winter School, to be held from the 4th to 8th of December, 2024, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in molecular materials and functions from leading experts, from all over the world.

Our Winter School is designed to provide students and researchers with:

  • a unique learning experience,
  • a combination of lectures, workshops, and
  • hands-on activities.

This School caters even to a student who’s just starting his/her academic journey, and also to an early career scholar, or a seasoned researcher. Our faculty comprises experts in molecular materials and functions, who are committed to sharing their knowledge, tools, and solutions with the next generation of researchers. During the Winter School, you will have the opportunity to learn from these experts through engaging lectures and interactive workshops and also, collaborate with other students and researchers from around the world. In addition to the academic program, we also offer social events and excursions, which provide the perfect opportunity to explore the local area and network with other attendees in an informal setting. Our Winter School is being held in one of the most premier academic institutes of India, providing the perfect backdrop for a memorable and productive learning experience. We believe that our Winter School is an excellent opportunity for students and researchers to enhance their knowledge and skills, to connect with other individuals who share their passion for molecular materials and functions, and to foster friendships. We encourage you to join us and take advantage of this unique opportunity to learn, collaborate, and network with experts in the field. We look forward to welcoming you to our Winter School, and to supporting you as you pursue your academic and professional goals.
